AMIE is a perfectly valid degree and it is recognised by all educational bodies of India including Board of Assessment, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), University Grants Commission (UGC), Central Government, all State Governments, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Distance Education Council (DEC) and by the Association of Indian Universities for employment and academic equivalence. It is also approved by UK, USA, AUSTRALIA, Canada, COEPP, Bahrain, etc.
AMIE equals B.Tech/BE in all aspects of engineering including value of recognition, career, placement and promotion potentials. An AMIE can enjoy all the benefits of a B.Tech/BE in all sectors of higher studies and job placements. He is awarded all the merits of a B.Tech/BE as AMIE syllabus is formally recognised by all educational bodies of India.
Apex institutions like Coal India Limited (CIL) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) recruit AMIE graduates with the same importance given to B.Tech/BE. Jobs and promotion are not afflicted at all just because of graduation from Institution of Engineers. AMIE has been in India ever since 1920, even before IIT’s. With an AMIE degree one can apply for engineering services exams, UPSC and GATE. AMIE graduates can also apply for universities in US as well as UK. Wherever B.Tech is required as minimum educational qualification AMIE is also accepted. A pass in Sections A & B examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India) is recognised by the Government of India as equal to a bachelor’s Degree in the respective field of engineering.
